Unit 1: Family

In the first unit of the curriculum, Family is defined as a group of people that care for and support each other. Children will explore the roles and responsibilities of family members, problem solving, and conflict resolution.

Unit 2: Friends

In Friends, children explore how different perspectives can complicate friendships. They will develop collaboration and communication skills needed to enhance their relationships.

Unit 3: Wind and Water

In Wind and Water, children research weather. They will compare and contrast its effect on people and animals.

Unit 4: The World of Color

In The World of Color, children learn how color communicates information, and its role in art and nature. They will explore how to creatively express their thoughts and ideas.

Unit 5: Shadows/Reflections

In Shadows and Reflections, children explore the properties and functions of light. They will consider how light is beneficial to people and animals.

Unit 6: Things that Grow

In Things That Grow, children explore the life cycles of plants and animals. They will reflect on how they have grown and changed and look ahead to Kindergarten.
